Welcome to our (hopefully) last Thursday Lockdown online learning session!
You and your whanau have been amazing during this tricky time and I am PROUD of you all for being OPEN MINDED, TRUSTWORTHY and INDEPENDENT with your learning. Congratulations to all the students who showed RESPECT to each other during our Google classroom sessions. You truly have been OUTSTANDING!!!
Parents: Please come to a google meet tonight@7pm. Click here for details.
Students: Your first challenge today is……………Tidy up time!
As we get ready to go back to school, it’s a good time to have a really good tidy up at home – clean your bedroom, tidy your toys and books and fold up your clothes. Here is a short Youtube clip to help you learn how to fold a T-shirt.
SQUISHY BAG Handwriting
Here’s a fun way to practise your handwriting but first you will need to make the Squishy bag.
How to make squishy bags – you will need an adult to help you.

What you need:
- zip lock bags
- flour
- water
- food colouring
- heavy-duty packing tape or duct tape (or put your bag on a baking tray)
- Cotton bud How to make it:
- Put 75ml (5 Tablespoons) of flour and 50ml (3 ½ Tablespoons) of cold water in a bowl and give it a good mix until it is smooth (it needs to be quite thick)
- Add a few drops of food colouring and mix well.
- Spoon the mixture into a ziplock bag.
- Slowly flatten the mixture in the ziplock bag ensuring as much of the air is pushed out as possible before closing the top.
- Place heavy-duty packing tape, or duct tape, along the top to secure the opening.
- Use a cotton bud or your “Magic finger” to write the letters and numbers (careful not to use anything sharp as it will break the plastic)
Reading challenge
You have read lots of books during Lockdown and so today’s challenge is one where you get to choose the book or story you’ve enjoyed the MOST and read it to someone in your family. You could also read it to your pet.
Here are three of my favourite stories – click on the title below, to open the link.
